Sara Ruffini, holds a BSc and MSc degree in Building Engineering from Università Politecnica delle Marche. In 2016 she pursued a Doctoral degree in Civil, Building and Architectural Engineer from Università Politecnica delle Marche with specialization in Energy Efficiency in buildings. She collaborated in a European founded Project (FP7) called SEAM4US aimed at defining a technological and methodological framework for optimized energy management in public underground spaces and her work was mainly focused on developing and calibrating the whole building model. She also attended the Erasmus Plus program at Plymouth University in UK in 2014. Her major skills are modelling buildings, especially with object oriented and equation based tools (Modelica language), and model calibration according to ASHRAE 14.
Main Area of activity in R2M:
Sara is part of the Energy & Sustainability division. She is involved in the HORIZON 2020 European Projects HIT2GAP and PVSites as building simulation expert. Sara is also part of the IES Virtual Environment team.
