Machine Learning Engineer
We are looking for a driven Machine Learning Engineer to expand our Artificial Intelligence team within the Innovation Division.
Working closely with the Senior AI Manager, the ideal candidate has a solid programming background and is ready to design, develop, and test AI solutions applied to research and innovation projects in the industrial and manufacturing sector (Industry 5.0), specifically involving:
Visual data (Computer Vision)
Textual and audio data (Natural Language Processing – NLP)
Applied research on open-source models (e.g. Hugging Face)
Key Responsibilities
Support the creation and training of Machine Learning and Deep Learning models for real-world use cases, such as visual quality control or voice-based human-machine interaction.
Develop advanced solutions based on textual data using Generative AI models and Agentic AI architectures for automation and complex task resolution.
Assist in the collection, cleaning, and preparation of datasets required to train algorithms (data pipelines, data augmentation).
Collaborate with the software development team to integrate AI models into broader platforms or architectures, taking part in laboratory and field testing phases.
Explore new models and libraries to assess how they can address the technical challenges of ongoing projects.
Technical Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or scientific discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, or related fields).
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, along with the main data manipulation libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
Hands-on experience (including academic) in developing applications based on Large Language Models (LLMs) and using orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or LlamaIndex.
Knowledge of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures and Prompt Engineering fundamentals.
Basic knowledge of at least one Deep Learning framework (preferably PyTorch or TensorFlow) and Computer Vision algorithms.
Familiarity with Vector Databases (e.g. ChromaDB, Pinecone) and the use of APIs for generative models (OpenAI, etc.) or open-source models (e.g. Hugging Face ecosystem, Ollama).
Basic knowledge of major Cloud platforms and architectures (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure).
Familiarity with Git and code versioning practices.
Soft Skills
Excellent command of both Italian and English, spoken and written.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work alongside diverse technical profiles (backend developers, process engineers, project managers).
Flexibility and ability to adapt across different projects, switching between visual and textual data tasks.
Curiosity and a strong inclination toward continuous learning in a fast-evolving field such as Artificial Intelligence.
Residence or domicile in the Turin area and willingness to travel will be considered a preferential requirement.
The role, compensation, and contract type will be assessed based on experience and qualifications.
