Motivation & Impact
Mediterranean industries remain heavily dependent on fossil fuels for heat, driving high energy costs and significant greenhouse gas emissions. GREENOLIVE responds to this challenge by developing and demonstrating efficient solar-based heating solutions adapted to real industrial needs. The project will deliver proven, replicable models that enable plants across the Mediterranean region to cut fossil fuel use and accelerate their transition to clean energy. By strengthening cross-border cooperation and knowledge exchange, GREENOLIVE will also foster shared decarbonisation strategies, supporting long-term industrial sustainability beyond the project’s duration.
Role of R2M
In GREENOLIVE, R2M France plays a central role in bridging research to market. It co-leads Communication & Dissemination together with eCAMPUS to ensure strong project visibility. R2M leads the Replicability Business Plan, analysing business models and pathways for uptake in plastics, textiles, agri-food, and residential sectors. It co-develops the White Paper to inform policy for industrial decarbonisation and contributes to capacity building through training and knowledge transfer. Additionally, R2M conducts economic and market analysis to evaluate pilot performance and identify opportunities for scaling across the Mediterranean.
