Federico Noris is the Innovation Area Manager of R2M Solution Spain. Federico holds a BSc and MSc in Environmental Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano and PhD in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin where he focused on energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality (IEQ) in buildings. After his studies he was Postdoc at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) working on energy efficiency and IEQ retrofits in low income apartments; subsequently he was Senior Researcher in Building physics at EURAC Research focusing on Net ZEBs, control strategies and continuous commissioning in buildings. His technical expertise includes building retrofits, building performance optimization, smart grids, flexibility and local energy communities. He then became the R2M Solution Innovation Area Manager where he delivered innovation services to strategic clients (e.g., market analysis, business plans, proposal writing) and for the benefits of R2M branches, supported in the commercialisation of innovative solutions in the building and smart grid fields and acted as project manager in several H2020 projects. Between 2018 and 2021 he was Business Developer at the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC) where he led the institute efforts in proposal preparation at EU and national level as well as industrial agreements.
Main area of activity in R2M:
Project Manager of ENSNARE and REGEN-BY-2 H2020 projects, responsible for exploitation, dissemination and communication activities for the commerciallisation of project innoative solutions. In parallel he delivers innovation services to strategic clients, primariliry in the fields of building energy efficiency and smart grids.
