Gaetana Battaglia obtained her Master’s degree in Architecture, Construction and the City at the Polytechnic University of Turin with a thesis on the Analysis of radiant systems in high-performance buildings: energy and economic evaluations. The thesis led to the publication of a paper entitled ‘Cost-optimal coupling between mechanical ventilation and radiant systems for improving healthy and smart energy efficiency in residential buildings’ at an IAQVEC 2023 conference in Tokyo. In 2023, she collaborated with engineering and architecture firms as a BIM SPECIALIST and in the meantime attended a Master’s degree course in Sustainability and Energy management in construction works at the F.lli Pesenti Master’s School of the Politecnico di Milano. During the Master’s course, Gaetana delved into the various topics of the sustainable design world, such as Minimum Environmental Criteria, the main rating systems for buildings and infrastructures (WELL, LEED, BREEAM, Envision) and energy modelling/analysis of buildings and modelling in BIM.
Main area of activity in R2M:
In R2M Solution, Gaetana works as an architect in the sustainability team, in WELL and LEED certification and in carrying out performance checks.
