R2M Solution Takes Part in the Capenergies Energy Systems Club in Monaco
On 2 July 2026, R2M Solution participated in the Capenergies Energy Systems Club, organised in partnership with the Société Monégasque de l’Électricité et du Gaz (SMEG) in Monaco. Entitled “Towards Electrified Uses: Challenges Related to Control, Storage and Flexibility,” the event brought together various stakeholders from the energy sector to discuss the transformations associated with the increasing electrification of buildings and energy systems. In light of European decarbonisation objectives, the electrification of energy uses represents an essential way to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. However, its development raises several challenges related to demand management, energy storage and the ability of energy grids to adapt to changes in production and consumption. The discussions held during the event focused in particular on the role of smart control systems, storage solutions and energy flexibility. These technologies can help optimise energy consumption, reduce peak demand and facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources into the grid. R2M Solution Presents the Smart Readiness Indicator During the session dedicated to innovative projects and solutions, Rachel Desmaris, representing R2M Solution, presented the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI). Developed at the European level, the SRI assesses a building’s ability to use smart technologies to improve its operation and energy performance. The indicator considers, in particular, a building’s ability to: optimise its energy consumption and efficiency; adapt its operation to the needs and comfort of its occupants; interact with energy grids; contribute to the flexibility of the energy system. The SRI therefore helps identify the potential of smart buildings and the role they can play in the transition towards more efficient, flexible and decarbonised energy systems. A Day of Knowledge Sharing and Discovery The event also provided participants with an opportunity to exchange ideas with experts and energy innovation stakeholders, discover different solutions developed in the field of electrification and share their experiences. The day concluded with a technical visit to SeaWergie, SMEG’s seawater-based thermal energy pumping station located in Fontvieille. The facility uses thermal energy from seawater to provide heating and cooling to buildings, illustrating the potential offered by local and renewable energy resources. France–Italy Business Forum : Strengthening European Economic Cooperation
On 25 June 2026, Le Cannet hosted the France–Italy Business Forum, a strategic event bringing together institutional representatives, business leaders and economic decision-makers from France and Italy. Organised to strengthen economic relations between the two countries, the event provided a valuable platform for dialogue, networking and the development of new collaborations. The event was notably marked by the presence of several representatives from the French and Italian governments. The opening speeches were delivered by Roland Lescure, French Minister for the Economy, Finance, and Industrial, Energy and Digital Sovereignty, and Adolfo Urso, Italian Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy. Other political representatives also spoke throughout the day, including: Philippe Baptiste, French Minister for Higher Education, Research and Space; Anna Maria Bernini, Italian Minister for Universities and Research; Philippe Tabarot, French Minister for Transport; Edoardo Rixi, Italian Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility; Jean-Noël Barrot, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs; Antonio Tajani, Vice-President of the Italian Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs. The forum also brought together senior representatives from major companies and organisations, including Hervé Derrey, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Thales Alenia Space; Emma Marcegaglia, Chairwoman of Marcegaglia Holding; Frédérique Le Grevès, President of STMicroelectronics France; Nathalie Tarnaud Laude, Executive President of ATR; and Massimo Comparini, Managing Director of Leonardo’s Space Division. A day dedicated to French-Italian synergies Through round-table discussions, B2B meetings and the formalisation of several agreements, the forum enabled participants to discuss the main opportunities for cooperation between France and Italy. The discussions focused on strategic sectors for the future of both countries, including: the energy transition; transport and mobility; infrastructure; aeronautics and the space sector; digital technologies; healthcare; advanced technologies. These exchanges highlighted the complementary strengths of the French and Italian ecosystems, as well as the many opportunities for industrial, technological and commercial partnerships. Several cooperation agreements were also formalised during the event, including agreements between the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode and the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, between Bpifrance Investissement and CDP Venture Capital, and between Business France and the Italian Trade Agency. Developing sustainable European partnerships Beyond the institutional discussions, the France–Italy Business Forum offered a valuable networking opportunity for companies seeking to expand their activities, identify new partners or gain a better understanding of economic developments across the two countries. For R2M France, this initiative fully reflects our commitment to European cooperation. The development of innovative projects depends on the ability of different stakeholders to share their expertise, connect their networks and build strong, sustainable partnerships. At a time of major economic, industrial and environmental challenges, cooperation between French and Italian stakeholders represents an essential driver for accelerating innovation and supporting the necessary transitions. R2M France presents the SmarterEPC project at EUSEW 2026
Last week, R2M France participated in European Sustainable Energy Week 2026, organised by the European Commission in Brussels. This major event brings together European stakeholders committed to the energy transition each year to share their work, experiences and solutions. On this occasion, R2M France represented the European SmarterEPC project during the session entitled: “Boosting the potential of building renovations through renovation passports, EPCs and the SRI” Supporting the deployment of smarter buildings This session provided an opportunity to present the work carried out within the framework of SmarterEPC. The project supports European countries in the implementation of the Smart Readiness Indicator, also known as the SRI. This indicator aims to assess a building’s ability to use smart technologies in order to improve its energy efficiency, operation and adaptation to occupants’ needs. It therefore complements the energy performance certificates already used in the various Member States. R2M France spoke alongside the OneClickRENO, iBRoad2EPC, iEPB and OpenBEP4EU projects. The discussions brought together representatives of national authorities as well as several stakeholders from the building sector. The discussions focused in particular on the integration of different tools into energy renovation policies, including: energy performance certificates energy audits renovation passports the Smart Readiness Indicator. This meeting also provided an opportunity to compare the approaches adopted in several European countries and to better understand the difficulties encountered in implementing renovation policies. Towards more consistent energy renovation across Europe The discussions highlighted the importance of better connecting existing tools in order to facilitate renovation projects and support the smart transformation of buildings. SmarterEPC’s participation in EUSEW 2026 therefore represents a new opportunity to share the project’s results and contribute to European discussions on the future of building energy performance. Capenergies General Assembly in Aix-en-Provence
R2M France took part in the Capenergies General Assembly, held in Aix-en-Provence. The event brought together the cluster’s members to discuss key issues related to innovation and the energy transition. The day provided an opportunity to review Capenergies’ main activities and achievements over the past year. Participants were also able to discover several projects developed by members of the ecosystem. These presentations offered valuable insights into the initiatives currently being led by stakeholders in the sector and encouraged the sharing of experiences related to the energy transition. Discussions on European projects and innovation R2M France’s participation in the General Assembly led to numerous discussions and new connections. These exchanges provided an opportunity to present R2M France’s activities in supporting European projects, particularly in the fields of innovation, energy and the development of solutions contributing to the energy transition. The event also helped create new connections between network members and opened the door to potential future collaborations. R2M France would like to thank Capenergies and the entire organising team for this event, which provided valuable discussions and promising perspectives.
