Letizia D’Angelo
Team Leader Digital Twin & NBS Services
Letizia D’Angelo is a Building Engineer and certified BIM Manager with expertise in the digitalisation of the built environment, environmental sustainability, and the integration of BIM processes throughout the building lifecycle.
She holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Building Engineering from Università Politecnica delle Marche in Ancona, Italy, where she graduated with distinction with a thesis focused on the assessment of energy renovation measures to support the operation and maintenance of public buildings.
In 2017, she obtained a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Galway, where she developed a BIM-based methodology to support building retrofit processes. She is also the author and co-author of several scientific publications covering BIM, building retrofit, energy simulation, and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
Main area of activity in R2M:
At R2M Solution, Letizia coordinates and develops Scan2BIM and digital surveying activities, covering the entire process from data acquisition through 3D surveying and laser scanning technologies to the development of as-built BIM models. Her work supports building renovation, asset management, and the digitalisation of existing building portfolios.
She is also involved in BIM management and coordination, including the definition of information workflows and the management of Common Data Environments (CDEs). Her expertise extends to BIM2BEM, dynamic energy simulation, and Life Cycle Assessment, connecting digital building information with the assessment of energy and environmental performance.
Letizia is also the technical and commercial lead for GREENPASS, with a particular focus on Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and the assessment of urban design and regeneration strategies in terms of microclimate, climate resilience, and environmental sustainability.
Alongside these activities, she contributes to research and innovation projects funded under Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe, supporting the development and implementation of innovative methodologies for the digitalisation and decarbonisation of the built environment.
