Forum Palermo – Access4you

Forum Palermo represents a significant milestone in the Italian retail landscape: it is the first shopping center in Italy to obtain the international Access4you certification, initially achieving the “Certified Location” level and subsequently reaching the Silver level through a continuous process of accessibility assessment and improvement of both spaces and services offered to the public.

The project demonstrates a concrete approach to accessibility, with targeted interventions on infrastructure, services, and customer experience aimed at ensuring greater inclusivity,
autonomy, and comfort for visitors.

As part of the assignment, R2M Solution carried out a technical audit, including an operational on-site inspection at the shopping center, verifying compliance with the requirements of the Access4you certification through direct surveys, on-site measurements, and photographic evidence collection. The activity was developed with a highly operational and immediate approach, without the need for complex documentary analysis, enabling a rapid and accurate assessment of the site’s accessibility level for different user groups and the identification of key improvement opportunities through an efficient and cost-effective process.
Following the initial assessment phase and the preparation of the technical report, R2M Solution supported the shopping center’s continuous improvement journey by assisting in the
implementation of the identified interventions and contributing to the progressive enhancement of inclusivity standards and overall user experience quality.

Thanks to this shared path, Forum Palermo achieved the Silver level of the Access4you certification, strengthening its position as a benchmark for accessibility, hospitality, and attention to the needs of the local community.
Forum Palermo now has detailed accessibility information publicly available, helping customers to plan their visits in advance with greater confidence and predictability.
